We track over 350 variables in 175 countries, including issues such as rape, sex trafficking, maternal and child mortality, family law, women in government and the military, and many others. All these variables are listed and explained in our codebook.

Are you using the database for the first time? Our FIRST TIME USERS page will orient you!

Access to our database is always free. To find data, you will need to enter a variable from the codebook and a country from a drop-down menu. This will bring up a list of all the information we have about that issue within the country you have chosen. This information comes from sources such as government and NGO reports, news articles, and personal interviews with experts.

If you have information that you feel would be useful in our database, we would love to talk with you.
